Although ‘Safety’ is the fifth single from Conscious Route and Supermann on da beat’s upcoming ‘Shadows’ album, Conscious Route opts to sit back on this one as guest vocalist, Milla steps up to carry the track with a soulful vocal. The track deals with relationships and delves into themes of heartbreak, trust, betrayal and love as Conscious Route delivers a quick-fire rhyme in the middle as a bridge between Milla’s emotive singing.

Supaermann on da beat’s production shines as ever, as he brings through Geoffrey Williams on guitar and respected trombonist Chris Greive to assist. A piano intro gives way to a slowly building break that switches between skittering shuffles and a half-time sway as Milla and Conscious Route ride across the rhythms and minor key arrangements.

Showing versatility in their work, Conscious Route and Supermann on da beat show that they are willing to stretch their sound into different styles and that they are also willing to give others, like Milla on this track, time to shine too. Conscious Route and Supermann on da beat show more quality here as they push towards the 27th June release of their full-length LP on both digital and vinyl formats.
